Toby's Estate Coffee Singapore

Banyak yang sudah tidak asing lagi dengan coffee shop yang jadi tempat favorit nongkrong di bilangan Jakarta Utara, tepatnya di daerah Pantai Indah Kapuk alias Toby's Estate Coffee. Namun kali ini saya gak mau review Toby's Estate Indonesia, but yes here we go a glance of Toby's Estate Singapore.
Teman saya Dana sedang berkunjung ke Singapore dan akhirnya kita memutuskan untuk nongkrong di tempat yang nyaman biar bisa cerita and ngobrol panjang lebar. And because I am more to coffee over dessert person, as always saya selalu menjadikan coffee shop sebagai tempat berjumpa. Singkat cerita, hujan deras sore itu serta cuaca yang gloomy banget jadi background saya menyeruput secangkir macchiato dan hot chocolate tentunya buat Dana karena dia enggak suka kopi. Serta sepiring vanilla waffle berries yang kami pilih sebagai dessert setelah makan laksa aunty (laksa di Queesnstown fenomenal ini akan saya tulis di post selanjutnya ya, maklum gak pernah konsen foto kalo tiap makan disitu, haha).
Kafe kopi ini sepi banget saat saya dan Dana mengunjunginya. Padahal di jam-jam kopi sore kayak gini biasanya selalu padat pengunjung. Nampaknya mungkin karena hujan deras orang-orang jadi malas keluar rumah. Padahal sesungguhnya ngopi disini lumayan asik ambiancenya. Meja komunal besar yang bisa menampung rombongan yang dateng rame-rame dengan sebuah terarium glass bowl yang mereka gunakan sebagai table centrepiece instead of flower, nice!
Serta masih banyak lagi seating area baik indoor ataupun outdoor yang buat saya kepikiran, kok kayanya bikin event disini itu asik, macem bridal or baby shower (loohhhhh... maklum dulunya kerja hotel haha.)

Ruangan high ceiling dengan industrial concept di dominasi dengan warna dan konsep yang masculine kental mewarnai nuansa coffee shop ini. And also do not forget about their coffee bean that they sell! They display their finest coffee selections on the shelves. As we all know, Toby's Estate serves the great quality of coffee, no doubt!
On that wall shelve they sell coffee equipments from the cup to coffee knock which make me interested to ask the price because I have my home espresso machine at home but I don't have that to store my used espresso grounds. This question led me to visit the back of the coffee bar. The friendly manager, Michael is a good guy who not only answering the price of the knock box I asked but also answering all my questions regarding my amateur-try-to-be-a-barista technique. Haha I am sorry for disturbing you. Behind the coffee bar, he taught me how to put proper amount of the coffee, press it before turning on the machine so my espresso will be perfect thick to be made as latte or cappuccino. And how to most importantly not to prick the harden grounds by the tip of my metal spoon because it will scratch the filter basket harmful for the machine. I know it's silly. Sorry. Just knock hey, knock! Thank you Michael for your time! Really appreciate it.
Coffee shop yang berasal dari Australia ini menjadi favorit saya. Walau tidak sebesar Jakarta, Toby's Estate Singapore really convenient to be a place where you can hang out. Terletak di area Robertson Quay yang dikelilingi banyak kafe-kafe juga area residences be one of why they always have a big number to visit the cafe everyday. So, kalau lagi traveling ke Singapore dan mau tinggal dengan surrounding yang warm dan nyaman lalu dekat dengan tempat ngopi plus brunch (karena gak jauh dari sini juga another well-known cafe lainnya seperti P.S Cafe serta Common Man Coffee Roaster dan studio yoga di lantai atasnya, Yoga Movement, I also recommend this area buat jadi pilihan stay. Descent hotel like Four Points by Sheraton, The Warehouse or just simply airbnb saja di kawasan Robertson Quay. Hampir semua kafe disini, termasuk Toby, mengambil area lobby level condominium tertentu untuk mereka jadikan kafe dan restaurant.
Di area luar kafe juga terdapat banyak meja dan kursi-kursi, kalau lagi mau nikmatin angin semilir sore boleh duduk disini. Dengan pemandangan sungai (kecil), Singapore River di sebrangnya. Nanti banyak adegan anak-anak main scooter, people walk their dog, mother pushing the baby stroller, dan pastinya orang-orang jogging di pinggiran sungai ini. Sayang saat itu cuaca lagi enggak oke. Area duduk diluar enggak "digelar".
